Cavaliers Come from Behind to Defeat Oilers

(FINDLAY, Ohio) - The Walsh University Women's Tennis team won a hard fought battle against the Findlay Oilers yesterday at the Findlay YMCA securing the win at 4-3 for the match. The come from behind win puts our Cavaliers at 10-6 overall and 1-0 in the conference.

The Maroon and Gold singles teams would go on to defeat the Oilers 4-2 in a dominating performance. Clara Drasch would battle through three sets and go on to defeat Laura Brito 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.  Nicole Beidacki won her match against Eliza Kirov 6-3, 6-2. Katharina Razum got the win for Walsh as she outscored Cristina Nieto Soto 6-2, 6-1. Sofia Khairutdinova would round out the singles victories for the Maroon and Gold as she defeated Mikaela Hindenlang 6-2, 6-4.  Mercedes Fernandez and Maria Kacalova would fall just short in their matches against the Oilers (6-0, 6-2) and (6-2, 6-4).

In the doubles event, Clara Drasch and Parvanee Karimpour would post the only doubles win as they took down Cristina Nieto Soto and Mikaela Hindenlang 6-4. 

Women's tennis hits the road Sunday March 24th at 2:00 PM as they take on the Dragons from Tiffin.
