OWENSBORO, Kentucky - After the #2 Walsh Cavaliers women's tennis team dispatched the #3 Tiffin Dragons on Friday (April 26) afternoon, there will be a rematch for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference title on Saturday (April 27) at Centre Courts. 

Walsh advanced to the final against the #1 Hillsdale Chargers after a 4-1 win by the Cavaliers in the semifinal. The Championship match will take place at 1:30 PM Central time on Saturday afternoon. 

Tiffin won the third doubles match, taking a 1-0 advantage as the other two doubles bouts were in progress. The first doubles team of Mercedes Fernandez and Nicole Beidacki defeated Lauren Prince and Juliette Sirgant 6-4, evening the doubles point up at one. Maria Kacalova and Katharina Razum used a second set tiebreaker as they clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-3) win over Emily Sim and Abbie-Jade Riley in second doubles. 

Razum won Walsh's second point with a straight set victory 6-1, 6-0 over Milah Ryland in fifth singles. Fernandez made it 3-0 Cavaliers with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Riley in the first singles bout. At second singles, Sim was a 6-1, 6-2 winner over Kacalova as Tiffin got their first point, trailing 3-1. Beidacki sealed the match with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Sirgant in third singles. The fourth and sixth singles matches were unfinished as the match was played to the point of victory.
