Box Score VIENNA, W.Va. - The #23 ranked Cavaliers remained undefeated in the conference (9-0) and improved their overall record to 16-2 following today's 92-65 victory over Ohio Valley. Five Walsh players reached double figures, led by Mayci Sales' 22 point and 11 rebound double-double.
Walsh outscored the Fighting Scots in every quarter, leading 51-37 at halftime. The Cavaliers were a force around the rim, as they outscored Ohio Valley 52-22 on points in the paint. OVU shot only 32.9 percent (23-70) from the field, compared to Walsh's 50 percent (32-64) shooting.
Sales dominated the game shooting 8-12 from the field and 2-2 from beyond the arc for 22 points, while grabbing 11 rebounds for her ninth double-double of the season. Sales has scored in double figures every game this season and has finished the past four consecutive games with a double-double.
Sha Carter finished just shy of a double-double with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Alyssa Dean played solid minutes off the bench as she contributed 13 points on 6-10 shooting. Tyler Newkirk and Kimmie Borck also reached double figures with 11 and 10 points, respectively.
Kyrin Baklund and Imani Ward led the Fighting Scots offense with 24 and 20 points, respectively.
Walsh returns home Saturday (Jan. 25) to take on the Findlay Oilers at 1 pm.
