Box Score PAINSVILLE, Ohio - The #11 ranked Walsh Cavaliers defeated the Storm of Lake Erie, 88-60 for their 20th straight victory. Walsh finished the regular season 25-2 overall and a perfect 18-0 in conference, making them the regular season champions.
The Cavaliers got off to a hot start as they scored 30 points in the first quarter alone and led 58-22 at the half. Walsh shot 60.3 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from three, while holding Lake Erie to 49 percent shooting from the field and only 11.1 percent from behind the arc.
The sophomore/junior duo of Quionche Carter and Mayci Sales once again led the way for the Cavaliers. Carter only missed one field goal as she shot 9-10 from the floor for 24 points. She also had five rebounds and four steals. Sales finished with 22 points on 10-14 shooting. The rest of the Cavaliers' scoring was fairly balanced, as nine players scored on the day. Lexie Scarton chipped in nine, while Alyssa Dean and Majestic Sales had seven a piece.
Walsh is the #1 seed in the G-MAC tournament and will host #8 seed Lake Erie on Tuesday (March 3) at 5:30 pm for the G-MAC quarterfinals in Alumni Arena.
