COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers football team battled with the Ohio Dominican Panthers on Saturday (Oct. 23) afternoon at Panther Stadium. The Cavaliers were defeated 56-17, as they fell to 1-7 overall and 0-4 in the conference.

BIG MOMENTS RECAP

• Ohio Dominican opened the game with a 21-point first quarter before Mason Brown got the Cavaliers on the board. The sophomore connected on a 30-yard field goal with 13:57 left in the second quarter as Walsh trailed 21-3. 
  • Brown is now tied for the program-best for field goals in a season with 11. Brown is the NCAA era leader for field goals in a season. 
  • Walsh manufactured a seven-play, 66-yard scoring drive, totaling 2:20 of clock. 
• The Panthers added two second quarter scores despite an interception from Sal Sidebotham in the period. The game was 35-3 at the halftime break.
• After two Panther touchdowns, Walsh got on the board with a seven-yard rushing touchdown from Jeremy Hodge with two minutes left in the third.
• Ohio Dominican closed their scoring with a fourth quarter touchdown through the air.
• Hodge scored a one-yard touchdown run with 8:30 to go. The final score was 56-17.

CAVALIER TOTALS

• Walsh totaled 18 first downs with 297 yards of total offense. The passing attack totaled 181 yards while the rushing game accounted for 116 yards. 
• Hodge was 15-of-30 passing with 167 yards passing and two interceptions. The mobile QB also tallied 60 yards on 13 carries and two scores. 
• Thomas Wilks totaled 47 yards rushing on 15 carries. 
• Keyshawn Johnson caught six passes for a game-high 97 yards.    
• Sidebotham led the defense with 11 tackles and an interception. 
• Matt Esterle had the Cavaliers' only sack for the contest.

• Walsh will return home for a two-game homestand on Saturday (Oct. 30) as they host the Findlay Oilers at Bob Commings Field. Saturday's kickoff will be at 12:00 PM.
