Box Score NORTH CANTON, OHIO- The Walsh University Women's Basketball team tipped off their 2021-22 season home opener with a victory against the Fighting Scots from Edinboro. The entire Cavalier roster would add points during their 90-32 offensive showcase giving them a 2-1 record as the season is underway.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Sha Carter led the way for the Maroon and Gold with 24 points in her first home game of the season
- Carter made 12 of 14 field goal attempts. She also contributed 5 rebounds, 2 assits and 4 steals.
- Morgan McMillen added 12 points on the board for the Cavs.
- McMillen also tallied 3 steals and 4 rebounds.
- Lexie Scarton would lead the Maroon and Gold in both rebounds(8) and assists(6) on the day.
- Abby Hickey and Jamie Schmeltz posted 9 and 8 points respectively from the bench.
- Hickey added 5 rebounds and Schmeltz 6 rebounds against the Scots.
- Akilah Stewart would contribute a defensive front for the Cavs as she totalled 4 steals during the 7 minutes she checked in.
FOR THE SCOTS:
- Rana Elhusseini guided the Scots offense with 12 points.
- Elhusseini would also add 3 rebounds, 2 assits and 2 steals.
- Macie Jarrett also contributed 9 points for Edinboro
The Cavaliers would outrebound the Fighting Scots 44 to 29 and would go on to shoot 48.7% from the field in their first home win of the season. The Cavaliers are packing their bags and heading to Hawaii to compete in the Malika Thanksgiving Classic Thursday November 25th & 26th.
