Box Score Canton, Ohio - The Walsh University Men's Basketball team lost their eighth game of the season Tuesday (Feb. 24th) against rival Malone University. The Pioneers defeated the Cavaliers 71-69 thanks to a late second-half push.

The Short Story: Walsh and Malone went toe-to-toe Tuesday night as there were six lead changes and seven ties throughout the matchup. Senior guard Darryl Straughter led the Cavs with 21 points, including four treys. Also scoring in double-digits were Caleb Canter and Christian Simmons. Canter tabbedd 12 points while grabbing eight boards. Simmons contributed valuable minutes off the bench where he was 5-8 from the field, totaling 13 points. Simmons, Canter, and guard Chirstian Montague all led the team in rebounds at eight on the day.
Four of five starters all contributed double-digit points for the Pioneers. Bo Myers and Levi Seiler led the charge with 14 points a piece. Forward Marcus Ernst led all rebounders at 13 on the day.
The Cavaliers will take on the Ohio Dominican Panthers Thursday (Feb. 25th) at 7:30 p.m. ET at home.
