Box Score COLUMBUS, OH- The Walsh Women's Basketball team advanced past the first round of the Atlantic region Friday (March 12th) night as they beat conference opponent Cedarville University. Walsh outsocred the Yellowjackets 88-71.

The Cavaliers maintained a lead throughout the competition, outscsoring the Yellowjackets 22-11 in the first quarter. Junior Sha Carter led the Cavaliers as she recorded her first career triple-double and second in program history. Carter scored 23 points, where she was 10-19 from the field and 2-4 from behind the arc. The first-team All-G-MAC selection also grabbed 19 rebounds and dished out 10 assists to complete the triple-double. Lexie Scarton and Mayci Sales also contributed double-digit points. Sales totaled 15 on the day, while also grabbing four boards. Scarton shot 70 percent from the field (7-10), totaling 17 points, including three treys.
Cedarville was led by Ashlyn Huffman, as she led all-scored with 29 points. Huffman also contributed five rebounds and four assists.
Walsh will look to advance to the final round of the Atlantic region Saturday (March 13th) evening as they take on the University of Charleston beginning at 6 p.m. ET
