Box Score PEPPER PIKE, Ohio - With the end of the shortened 2021 season looming along with the 2021 Great Midwest Tournament, the #8 Walsh Cavaliers volleyball team finished the regular season on Friday (March 5) against the Ursuline College Arrows.
In a match that featured 24 ties and a season-high 12 lead changes, Walsh rallied back from a set two loss with a 3-1 victory.

FOR THE CAVALIERS
- Hallie Schroeder led the Cavaliers offense with a season-high 18 kills and 16 digs, tallying a double-double. The senior hit .340 for the match as she had 11 kills and nine digs in the final two sets.
- Alexis Gilland added 16 kills on offense with six in the first and last set each.
- Grace Lindquist gave Walsh 11 kills and three total blocks.
- Olivia Kearns set a career-high and Division II match-high with 57 assists. Kearns reached a double-double with 11 digs as well.
- Natalie Brutscher led four players with double-figure digs as she compiled 23 of her own.
- Olivia Maczuzak was just shy of a double-double with nine kills and 15 digs.
FOR THE ARROWS
- Nora Clink had 17 kills on offense and 15 digs on defense for a double-double. Abigail Aguilera-Ayala (11 K/16 D) and Sarah Miozzi (47 assists/18 digs) both had double-doubles as well.
- Krisandra Mezera had 13 kills and six blocks.
- Zoe Skinner compiled 29 digs and two service aces.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- Walsh outhit Ursuline .268 to .243 as the Cavaliers hit above .340 in the first and fourth sets.
- With 68 kills, Walsh reached the second-most kills in a match in the Division II era. Walsh had 68 kills to Ursuline's 59.
- As Kearns tallied 57 assists, the team had a D2 era best 67 assists (total and four sets).
- Overall, Walsh hit season-bests in kills, assists and digs.
NOTABLE
- Walsh finished the regular season 10-1 overall and will host a Great Midwest Quarterfinal match on Tuesday.
- The Cavaliers have won seven straight matches, the longest winning streak in the Division II era.
- For the first time since January 30th, Walsh had lost a set when Ursuline won set 2. Since dropping three sets to the Hilsdale Chargers at home on 1/30, Walsh had won 18 straight sets.
