Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - For the second straight year, the Walsh Cavaliers volleyball team opened the Great Midwest Tournament with the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans. In the 2021 version of the G-MAC Tournament, the #2 seeded Cavaliers downed the #7 seeded Trojans 3-1 on Tuesday (March 9) to advance to the semifinals for the fourth straight year.

FOR THE CAVALIERS
- Hallie Schroeder led the Cavaliers offense with a career-high 21 kills. The senior tallied 14 digs while hitting .486 on 37 attempts.
- Alexis Gilland was the second player in double-digit kills with 14 kills. She also had three blocks on the front line.
- Olivia Kearns reached a double-double with 36 assists and ten digs.
- Natalie Brutscher totaled 13 digs on defense.
- Grace Lindquist assisted the defense with four blocks overall.
FOR THE TROJANS
- Ellie Buffler led the Trojans with 19 kills, two aces and a .341 hitting percentage.
- Chloee McDaniel led three players in double-figures with 12 digs and 38 assists.
BEHIND THE NUMBERS
- Walsh outhit Trevecca .296 to .201 as the Cavaliers hit above .300 in all but one set (second set).
- Walsh led Trevecca in the categories of kills (57-53), digs (57-52) and blocks (6-2). Trevecca outpaced Walsh in assists (45-43) and aces (5-4).
NOTABLE
- Walsh improved to 11-1 on the season with their fourth straight G-MAC Semifinal appearance.
- The Cavaliers have now won eight straight matches, the longest winning streak in the Division II era.
- Walsh is now 6-1 against the Trojans, including two wins this season.
Walsh will travel to Hillsdale, Michigan for the G-MAC Semifinal on Friday (March 12). The Cavaliers will rematch with the Tiffin Dragons, the #6 seed, at 7:30 PM.
