CEDARVILLE, Ohio - In a back-and-forth Great Midwest contest on Thursday (Jan. 13) evening, the Cedarville Yellow Jackets edged the Walsh Cavaliers men's basketball team 76-73 at the Callan Athletic Center. 

In a game that featured 12 lead changes and four ties, Cedarville gained the lead with 3:30 left to go. Walsh made a run in the final 2:20 as they slimmed a seven-point lead to one with 38 seconds left.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

• Owen Hazelbaker scored a career-high 28 points in the game, including 18 points in the second half. For the game, Hazelbaker was 11-of-13 from the floor and five-of-seven from beyond the arc. Strictly in the second half, Hazelbaker knocked out all seven field goals he took (three-for-three from deep). 
• Darryl Straughter had 19 points and six assists with six-of-17 field goals with a pair of three pointers. He was perfect from the free throw line in all five chances. 
  • The fifth-year senior moved into 2nd place all-time with 1,895 career points. He is now the program's leader in three pointers with 356 threes. 
• Milan Square added 15 points, shooting six-of-nine overall and three-of-six from long range. 
• Garrison Keeslar led the team with eight rebounds and two steals.
• The Cavaliers shot 46.6% in the game with 27-of-58 field goals made. Walsh was 45.5% of three-point shots, connecting on ten three pointers. 

FOR THE YELLOW JACKETS:

• Branden Maughmer fueled the Yellow Jackets with 23 points. 
• Conner TenHove nearly had a triple-double with 15 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists. All of his points came on three pointers. 
• Isaiah Speelman and Kollin Van Horn scored 13 and ten points, respectively. 
• Cedarville shot 43.8% from the floor and 48.3% from three-point land. The Yellow Jackets made 28-of-64 shots overall and was 14-of-29 from the three-point arc. 

Walsh returns home on Saturday (Jan. 15) afternoon to host the Ohio Dominican Panthers at 3:00 PM.
