Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's basketball team shook off a slow start and pulled away behind some hot shooting and stifling defense on Saturday (Jan. 15) afternoon at Alumni Arena. After a slow first eight minutes in a tie game, Walsh used a 12-0 run to create distance in an 80-45 win over the Ohio Dominican Panthers. The Cavalier shot 50% for the game while holding Ohio Dominican to 30% from the floor.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Darryl Straughter led with 17 points, including five three pointers for the fifth-year senior. He was six-of-ten from the floor in the game.
- Caleb Canter was five-of-eight shooting in an 11 point effort with seven rebounds and a pair of steals.
- Tim Smith Jr. scored nine points with six rebounds.
- Garrison Keeslar tallied seven points, seven rebounds and four assists. Milan Square had seven points and seven boards with two steals.
- 13 different players scored in the game.
- The Cavaliers shot 50% in the game with 31-of-62 field goals made as they shot 50% in both halves. Walsh was 50% of three-point shots, connecting on 11 three pointers of 22 attempts.
- Walsh won the rebounding battle 47-26 with 15 offensive rebounds.
- The 45 points scored was a season-best for the Cavaliers defense.
FOR THE PANTHERS:
- Zach Szul was the leading scorer for ODU with 13 points and four steals.
- Alek West scored 12 points with five rebounds.
- The leading rebounder was Arius Jones with eight boards.
- Ohio Dominican shot 30.2% from the floor and 26.7% from three-point land. The Panthers made 16-of-53 shots overall and was only eight-of-30 from the three-point arc.
Walsh remains home on Tuesday (Jan. 18) night to host the Tiffin Dragons at 7:30 PM, a part of a three-game home stand.
