Walsh avenges earlier loss to KWC with a 67-61 win on the road

OWENSBORO, KY- The Walsh University Cavaliers extended their win streak to eight Saturday (January 29th) afternoon as they beat the Panthers from Kentucky Wesleyan in their second mathcup of the season. Three out of five starters, led by Morgan McMillen, scored in double digit figures. 

Score: Walsh 67, Kentucky Wesleyan 61

Records: Walsh 16-3 (11-2), Kentucky Wesleyan 12-7 (9-4)

FOR THE CAVALIERS:

  • Morgan McMillen led the Cavs in scoring for the second straight game. McMillen shot six-of-eleven from the field for a total of 18 points
  • Sha Carter followed close behind with 16 points and eight rebounds, while also dishing out five assists
  • Mayci Sales added 14 points as she was five-of-seven on the day
  • Senior Guard Lexie Scarton led both teams in rebounds and assists at nine and five. 
  • Walsh won the rebounding war again 40-37. The Cavaliers have outrebounded their opponent for twelve straight games. 

FOR THE PANTHERS:

  • Tahlia Walton poured in 18 points for the Panthers, shooting six-of-eleven from the field
  • Shiya Hoosier and Cali Nolot each added nine points a piece

The Cavaliers will host defending G-MAC champs Tiffin University Wednesday, February 2nd in Alumni Arena.
