Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's basketball team followed up Thursday's performance in Michigan with a wire-to-wire victory over the Findlay Oilers on Saturday (Jan. 8) afternoon at Niekamp Arena. Walsh jumped out to a 5-0 lead and never looked back in a 72-59 win.
After Walsh scored the first five points on a part of a game-opening 14-5 run, a 9-2 run by the Oilers closed the gap to 16-14 with 2:31 left in the first quarter. Walsh ended the quarter with a 7-2 run, holding a 23-16 lead after one period. Findlay could not get within four points throughout the second quarter as the Cavaliers took a 38-32 lead into halftime. Megan Ball and Sha Carter combined on a 6-0 run over two minutes as the lead ballooned to 44-32. Findlay pulled within seven points but Walsh responded with a 9-0 run for a 16-point advantage. Findlay got the lead under ten points three times as Walsh led the rest of the way.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Sha Carter led all players in the game with 25 points, eight rebounds and five assists. The senior connected on eight field goals, three-of-four three pointers and all six free throw attempts. She also added two steals and a pair of blocks.
- Mayci Sales shot 50% from the floor in an 14-point effort with seven rebounds.
- Morgan McMillen scored 11 points with three steals.
- Abby Hickey and Alyssa Dean each had six points on a pair of threes. Dean contributed three steals and two blocks.
- Walsh shot 40.3% from the floor, making 25-of-62 shots overall. The team was nine-for-24 from three and made 13-of-14 free throws.
- The Cavaliers won the rebounding edge 34-27 and dominated the offensive boards 11-2.
FOR THE OILERS:
- Kate Ellis led the Oilers with 16 points off the bench.
- Sydney Kin scored 15 points and Bridget Landin added ten points and five rebounds.
- Findlay shot 39% overall to outshoot the Cavaliers, making 20-of-45 shots.
Walsh will travel to Cedarville on Thursday (Jan. 13) to conclude the three-game road swing. Tipoff against the Yellow Jackets is set for 5:30 PM.
