FINDLAY, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's tennis team took down the #23 ranked Findlay Oilers in a Great Midwest matchup on Sunday (March 27) at the YMCA East.
Walsh got the doubles point with wins in first and second doubles. With the doubles matches tied 1-1, Risako Umekuni and Alexa Gamborino won the first doubles match to clinch the first point for Walsh. Nicole Beidacki made it 2-0 Walsh with a 6-3, 6-4 win at fourth singles. After Findlay won the third singles bout, Umekuni dispatched her first singles opponent 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 for a 3-1 lead. Findlay got the sixth singles point but Walsh clinched the match with a second singles win. Shantala Uzcategui won 7-6 (3), 7-5 in order for Walsh to win the match 4-2.
