MAROON AND GOLD DROP HOMECOMING GAME TO QUINCY

NORTH CANTON (OH)- Cavalier Football was game 4 out of 7 during Homecoming Week/Weekend. Cavalier fans from near and far packed the stands and lined the gates to see the second ever home football game on the beautiful campus. The home team got on the board first in the 1st quarter, thanks to Charles Hanchett's 20 yard field goal. Early in the second quarter, Kharion Davis' 24 yard touchdown run extended the Maroon and Gold's lead. Right before the break, Quincy closed the gap recording a safety making the score 10-2. The Hawks struck quickly in the second half. A 74 yard touchdown pass from Tionne Harris to Angel Ruiz added 6 more to the scoreboard. Soon after, they added 3 more to the board taking the lead over the Cavaliers, 11-10. Walsh responded with a 31 yard field goal to take a 2 point lead. The visiting team then went on to score 17 unanswered points to go on and win the game with a final score of 28-13.

  • Tionne Harris threw for 221 yards on 14 completions. He recorded 1 touchdown and 1 interception in the win.
  • Running back, Tremayne Lee averaged 6.9 yards per carry and added a touchdown. 
  • Aniik Mckenzie was the most active pass receiver with 4 receptions for 62 yards. 

The Cavs will travel to Lebanon, Illinois to face McKendree on Saturday September 24th. Kickoff is set for 2pm.
