NORTH CANTON, OHIO- The Walsh University Women's soccer team defeated cross town rival, Malone, in a Thursday night conference showdown. The 3-1 victory on Larry Staudt Field helped the Cavaliers secure win number five on the season.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Megan Anderson connected on the first goal for the Cavaliers after a deflected free kick landed at her feet.
- Emma Gecks extended the Cavalier lead with a goal in the 47th minute of the game.
- The goal for Gecks was provided by an assist from teammate Maddie Schweiger.
- The last goal the maroon and gold put on the board mirrored the first point of the game, as Krista Prasek connected to the back of the net off a goalie deflection.
- The Cavalier defense only allowed four shots for the entire evening, which included 2 shots on goal.Â
- Romina Parraguez tabbed two saves in the win.Â
The maroon and gold travel to Northwood on Saturday, October 1st for a 12:00pm match-up.Â
