SCARTON SCORES HER 1000TH POINT, WALSH FALLS TO #1 ASHLAND

NORTH CANTON, OH- The Walsh Women's Basketball Team had a tough task at hand in Alumni Arena on Saturday. They faced the number one team in the country, the Ashland Eagles. Ashland came in undefeated and left undefeated as they had a strong start outscoring the Cavs 24-5 in the first quarter. The Eagles also out rebounded the Cavs 52-25. The home team was never able to get anything going as they shot 11.8% from behind the arc.

FOR THE CAVS 
  • Lexie Scarton tabbed her 1000th career point in the match up. She finished the afternoon with 13 points, which led the team. She also had four assists. 
  • Kiley Dyrlund added 12 points and four rebounds. 
  • Lauren Galaska and Jamie Schmeltz also each added four rebounds.
FOR THE EAGLES
  • Hayley Smith recorded a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Annie Roshak and Hallie Heidemann led the game in points scored with 18 each. 
  • Morgan Yoder had four assists. 
The Cavs next game is on 1/19 at Cedarville.
