NORTH CANTON, OH: The Cavaliers football team traveled to Painesville to try to take back the Pride and Passion trophy from Lake Erie after losing it last year. The first half of the game went back and forth with multiple field goals by both teams. Walsh went into the half down 6-9, looking to regain the momentum.
They would start the half with an 11-play drive that started from their own 27 yard line and resulted in a 25-yard rushing touchdown from quarterback
Dalys Jett. After a Lake Erie touchdown and another Walsh field goal, the game was tied at 16 with less than two minutes to go in the game. Lake Erie would go for it on 4
th and 3 on the Walsh 27 when quarterback Xeavier Bullock fumbled. The ball was recovered by linebacker
Cam Hollobaugh and returned 65 yards for a touchdown to give Walsh a 23-16 lead. Lake Erie would get the ball back and three plays later another fumble would be returned for a touchdown by linebacker
Chris Jones to seal the game for the Cavaliers.
Walsh will look to get another win next week as they travel to Ashland to take on the Eagles next Saturday, October 7 at 7PM.
