NORTH CANTON, OH: Walsh closed out the year at home on Senior Day, in a tight battle against the Northwood Timberwolves. They would also honor all veterans and first responders at the game in a Salute to Service Day.
Â
Northwood started the game out strong, scoring 2 touchdowns in the first quarter including a 65-yard kickoff return ÂÂÂÂby Deonte Higgins. Walsh would climb back though, driving down and scoring late in the second quarter after a 1-yard touchdown run from
Dom Jennings. The Cavs went into the half down 17-14, but with all the momentum.
Â
The momentum quickly shifted to start the second half as Deonte Higgins took another kickoff 95-yards to the endzone to give Northwood a 24-14 lead. Again, Walsh answered back with a 32-yard touchdown pass from quarterback
Hayden Wickard to wider receiver
Anthony Harris. After another Northwood touchdown, Walsh had one final drive to try to force overtime. The offense drove all the way to the 7 yard line but would fall short after an interception in the endzone with 48 seconds left.
