NORTH CANTON, OH: After dropping their first game of the season Saturday vs Ashland, the Walsh Men's Basketball team had to have a short memory as they faced the D'Youville University Saints today at 1pm. This was the first time that the Cavs and Saints faced each other in each programs history.
D'Youville scored the first points of the game but that lead only lasted two minutes. From the 18 minute mark of the first half, it was all Maroon and Gold. The Cavs went on a 14-0 run early in the first half to make the game untouchable for the visiting Saints. The Cavs led by as much as 23 in the first half and went into the break up 41-22.
The second half was similar to the first as Walsh scored 41 points once again. They held D'Youville to 20 points. The Cavaliers shot 55.7% from the field and were a perfect 6-6 from the charity stripe.
The Maroon and Gold will once again have a quick turnaround as they play Ohio Christian University on Tuesday at noon.
