ST. LOUIS, MO- The Walsh University Men's Lacrosse team opened their 2023 season in Missouri against Maryville University. The Cavs fell short on their season opener 6-17 against the GLVC competitor. The Saints offense was manageable by the Cavaliers in the first two quarters, but the second half faired more challenging for the maroon and gold.

FOR THE CAVALIERS:
- Adam Tinline was the first Cavalier to put points on the board for the start of the 2023 season.
- Tinline's goal at the nine minute mark in the first half was assisted by Evan Stertz.
- Tosh Pazuik and Isaac Stertz would both add unassisted goals in the first quarter for the Cavs.
- Ty Pilkington and Evan Stertz added two more points on the board for the maroon and gold in the second quarter.
- Pilkington connected to the back of the net in the third with an assist from Tosh Paziuk making that the only goal by the Cavs in the second half.
- Goalie Alex Movshin tallied 14 saves on the day.
- Matthew Miller led the Cavs with 4 ground balls in the season opener.
The maroon and gold take the field again on February 25th against Malloy University at 12:00pm in Rockville Centre, NY.
