NORTH CANTON, OH: It was an exciting day of softball at the Walsh University Softball Complex. The Cavaliers hosted the Lake Erie Storm to continue their conference schedule. Game one was all Maroon and Gold. The home team scored six runs on ten hits and starting pitcher,
Sarah Cantley, went all seven innings. She dominated in the circle, only giving up six hits and walked no batters. The Cav defense was error free in the contest.
Game two seemed as if it was going to be all Walsh again as they got off to a quick start, scoring three runs in the first inning. Lake Erie stormed back and exploded for seven runs in the third. Sophomore,
Kaylee Nolte, acted as a one woman wrecking crew, as she kept the Cavs in the game. Nolte homered in the third, hit a two RBI double in the fourth, a two run sac fly in the sixth, and a game winning sac fly in the eighth to bring the Cavs back, completing the double header sweep. Freshman pitcher,
Lindsey Leeds, showed poise coming in as relief. She went 5.2 innings only allowing three runs. The Walsh Softball team is now on a four game win streak and will look for more success against Tiffin on Thursday, March 30th, at 2:30 and 4:30pm, at home.
