MASON, OH- The reigning G-MAC Champions entered the 2023 conference tournament once again as the sixth seed and looked to regain the magic they had last season at Prasco Park. The Maroon and Gold started the tournament with a come from behind win against Ashland. Unfortunately, the next two games, vs Ohio Dominican and Findlay, would eliminate the Cavs from the tournament. The Championship series included Northwood and Ohio Dominican, with Northwood being crowned the 2023 Great Midwest Champions. Walsh did have a slew of athletes who earned all conference honors. Brodey Acres and Cam Hollobaugh were named All-Conference First Team, Cole Brogan was named All-Conference Second Team, and Matt McGrath earned All-Conference Third Team honors. Pitcher, Brody Ware, was awarded the Elite 26 academic excellence award. The team finished the season with a record of 27-24 and 19-13 in conference play.

FOR THE CAVS VS ASHLAND

• Ben Lefebvre led the Cavs with two RBI's on two doubles. 
• Benny Hymes IV and Matt McGrath each had two hits. 
• Nick Lallathin started on the mound and pitched 6.2 innings. He had six strikeouts.
• Cole Brogan earned the win, moving him to 7-0, as he only allowed two hits in 2.1 innings. 

FOR THE CAVS VS ODU

• Benny Hymes IV was 3/4 at the plate with two RBI's. 
• Matt McGrath was 2/4. 

FOR THE CAVS VS FINDLAY

• Eli Sutton, Cam Hollobaugh, and Ben Lefebvre each had two hits. 
• Benny Hymes IV had two RBI's and Lefebvre had one.
