NORTON, OH: Friday evening, the Men's and Women's Cross Country teams got their season underway at the Tommy Evans Cross Country Invitational, hosted by the University of Akron. The race was held at Silvercreek Metropark and included many Division One schools including Akron, Kent State, Toledo, Bowling Green, and Ohio University. Conference members, Malone and Lake Erie also ran. Both Men's and Women's teams ran very well vs the field, with the Men placing 3rd out of 17 teams and the Women placing 5th out of 16 teams.
Leading the way for the Women was sophomore,
Camryn Barker. Her time of 18:23.4 was good for 7th place. Leading the Men was Junior,
Mitchel Dunham. He ran the 6k in 18:34.9.
Both teams will race next on September 15th in Cedarville, Ohio at the All-Ohio Championships.
