CANTON, OH: Nothing worth having comes easy. That was the scenario for the Walsh Men's Basketball team tonight vs rival, Malone. Down by as much as 16 in the first half and 10 in the second half, the Maroon and Gold completed the comeback in overtime, winning 79-71. Malone came out on fire, shooting 56% from the floor and making 5 three pointers. One of three returners for Malone, Simon Blair, couldn't miss, scoring a total of 35 points in the game.
Slowly, the Cavaliers chipped away at the Pioneer lead, shooting 48.15% in the second half as well as making all 6 free throws. The teams first lead of the game came with 4:45 seconds remaining.
Coming down the stretch, with 15 seconds left,
Garrison Keeslar hit a 3 from the top of the arc, tying it up at 63. Simon Blair missed a three with one second left and
Ayden Carter pulled in the rebound, calling a time out. In bounding the ball with .5 on the clock,
Zack Oddo, hit a three quarter court shot but after review, was no good, forcing an extra five minutes.
The overtime period was all Walsh as they outscored the Pioneers, 16-8, making 11-12 free throws.
Despite a tough shooting night, Walsh out-rebounded Malone, 31-25, on the way to victory.
This win marks the Cavaliers 5th win in a row. They improve to 10-3 on the season and will look to keep the win streak alive vs Ohio Dominican on Saturday at 3pm.

- Playing in 44 out of 45 minutes, Garrison Keeslar, had 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. He was a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe and shot 50% from the floor.
- Kobe Mitchell continued his dominant scoring efforts, ending with 19. He also grabbed 6 rebounds.
- Zack Oddo shot 4-7 from three and had 18 points on the night.
- Off the bench, freshman, Ayden Carter, added 10 points.
