HILLSDALE, MI: The Cavalier men took to the road to take on The Hillsdale Chargers in a tough in-conference match-up on Thursday night. They were up for the task as they started the game on an 18-3 run. The Cavs first half shooting proved to be a problem for Hillsdale. Walsh shot 66.6% from beyond the arc in the first half and 58% from the field. This helped The Cavs stretch the lead to as much a 20 before The Chargers cut it to 16 going into the break.
Â
Coming out of the half with a 33-17 advantage, The Cavs looked to protect the lead by getting the ball into the hands of
Kobe Mitchell. Mitchell scored 15 of his game-high 25 points in the second half, while making 3-5 three point attempts. This allowed Walsh to hold onto the double-digit lead throughout the entire second half until a Hillsdale jumper with 9 seconds left cut the lead to 9.
Â
Ultimately, Walsh walked away with a 67-58 road victory to extend their win streak to 7 games.
The Maroon and Gold will try to keep the win streak alive as they return to Alumni Arena on Thursday, January 25
