ASHLAND, OH : It was a heartbreaking night for the Maroon and Gold when they traveled to Ashland University to face the Eagles in a match that proved to be a battle til the final whistle. The Cavs entered the match looking to take another 3 points from Ashland in conference play, previously beating them 1-0 earlier in the season. This was unfortunately not the case for the Cavs, who were outshot by the Eagles 13-5, while only having one of those on target. The Cavs held the Eagles goalless for the majority of the contest with goalkeeper Nick Bertolini making crucial saves to keep their hopes alive. However, the Eagles broke through the Cavalier defense in the 81st minute to make the score 1-0, eventually holding onto that lead and winning the match. The Cavaliers will look to turn things around when they return home to Larry Staudt field on Thursday October 17th at 6 P.M. when they face off against the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.
