CAVS WIN BIG IN THE PRIDE AND PASSION RIVALRY GAME

NORTH CANTON, OH - The Walsh University Cavaliers continued their impressive offensive display in the Pride and Passion Rivalry Game, dominating the Lake Erie Storm with a convincing 63-34 victory on Saturday afternoon. The Cavaliers wasted no time asserting their dominance, putting up 14 points in the first quarter and extending their lead to 42-6 by halftime.
 
Walsh's offense was firing on all cylinders from the start. Quarterback T.C. Molk had a perfect day, completing all 16 of his passes for 285 yards and 3 touchdowns. His favorite target was Garrett Waite, who hauled in 6 receptions for 109 yards. The ground game was equally impressive, with Cameron Macon leading the way by rushing for 156 yards and 2 scores on just 14 carries.
 
The Cavaliers' offense continued to pour it on in the second half, with Molk showcasing his dual-threat capabilities by breaking free for a 68-yard touchdown run. Brady Gooding and Grant Knight each caught touchdown passes from Molk, while Dante Walker and Jake Gill added rushing touchdowns.
 
Lake Erie's offense found some rhythm in the second half, led by quarterback Alec Lewis who threw for an impressive 434 yards and 4 touchdowns. Tae'Shaun Johnson was his primary target, catching 7 passes for 137 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 70-yard bomb. By the end of the third quarter, Walsh had built a commanding 56-34 lead. They added one more touchdown in the fourth quarter to cap off the scoring, while their defense held Lake Erie scoreless in the final frame. This 63 point performance ties the program record for most points scored in a game during the NCAA Division II era.
 
The win improves Walsh to 3-2 on the season and 2-1 in conference play. They'll look to build on this momentum in their next game against Hillsdale College on October 12, 2024. The game will take place in Hillsdale, MI, with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 PM.
