YELLOW JACKETS PROVE TO BE TOO MUCH FOR WALSH

CEDARVILLE, OH: The Cedarville University Women's Soccer Team earned a G-MAC Quarterfinal win,  4-1, over Walsh University on Saturday night. The win, for Cedarville, advanced them to the G-MAC Semifinal while the Maroon and Gold's season has ended.

The match started fast and furious, with Cedarville seizing the lead in the 12th minute. Seren Johnson delivered a pinpoint pass to Payton Fraley, to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 advantage. The Cedarville bench erupted, but Walsh wasn't about to go quietly.

In the 16th minute, Cedarville extended their lead connecting on a PK, moving the score to 2-0. Walsh struggled to recover, but their persistence paid off in the 30th minute when Tori Copfer scored off an assist from Kailey Hobart to make it 2-1.

However, Cedarville would not be denied. Becca Schulenburg made an immediate impact, scoring in the 30th minute to restore Cedarville's two-goal lead, 3-1. Despite several close calls and strong offensive pressure from Walsh, the Yellow Jackets prevailed.

As the match wore on, Cedarville's defense was resolute. Brooke Ackley, who had been solid all match, made key saves, including a diving stop on a dangerous shot from Walsh's Hannah Stein in the 84th minute. Cedarville's defensive line, led by the experienced Katie Ulmer and Megan McClish, stifled Walsh's attempts to break through.

The game's final highlight came in the 75th minute, when Addie Erslan capped off a perfect performance with a powerful strike from the edge of the box, sending the ball into the net to make it 4-1. With the game winding down, Cedarville controlled possession, limiting Walsh's chances and securing the victory.
