CAVS WRAP UP THE YEAR IN A SHOOTOUT

MIDLAND, MI - In a high-scoring season finale, the Walsh University Cavaliers (5-6, 4-5) fell short against Northwood University (6-5, 4-5) in a 49-42 shootout on Saturday afternoon at Hantz Stadium. Despite the loss, Walsh quarterback T.C. Molk put on a spectacular performance, setting new single-game records for the program.

Molk was nearly unstoppable, completing 35 of 50 passes for a staggering 436 yards and 6 touchdowns. His pinpoint accuracy and ability to spread the ball around kept the Cavaliers in the game until the final seconds. Molk's favorite target was Dalys Jett, who hauled in 9 catches for 154 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 61-yard bomb in the third quarter that breathed new life into Walsh's comeback attempt.

The game was a back-and-forth battle, with Northwood taking an early lead before Walsh stormed back. Molk's heroics were on full display in the fourth quarter, as he led three touchdown drives to keep the Cavaliers within striking distance. His final touchdown pass, a 1-yard strike to Trey Martin with just 4 seconds left on the clock, capped off an impressive 16-play, 97-yard drive that showcased Molk's poise under pressure.

While the Walsh defense struggled to contain Northwood's offense, there were some standout performances. Cam Hollobaugh led the team with 10 total tackles, while Jerijah Moore made a crucial interception, returning it 48 yards to set up a Cavalier score.

Despite the loss, Walsh's offensive firepower was on full display. Trey Martin had a big day with 10 receptions for 72 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Garrett Waite added 8 catches for 143 yards and a score. The ground game was led by Dante Walker, who rushed for 28 yards on 8 carries.

This thrilling finale, though ending in defeat, highlighted the potential of Walsh's offense and provided hope for the future. Molk's record-setting performance marked one of the greatest individual efforts in Walsh football history.
