CAVS FALL IN G-MAC SEMIFINAL

HILLSDALE, MI - The Walsh University Cavaliers (18-13, 10-6 G-MAC) saw their impressive postseason run come to an end in a hard-fought G-MAC semifinal match against seventh-seeded Ohio Dominican University (15-15, 8-7 G-MAC) on Friday evening. The five-set thriller, held at Dawn Tibbetts Potter Arena, resulted in a 3-2 victory for ODU.

The Cavaliers, riding high from their quarterfinal sweep of third-seeded Ashland, started strong with a 27-25 win in the first set. However, ODU responded by taking the second set 25-20, showcasing their resilience.

Walsh bounced back in the third set with a commanding 25-15 victory, led by standout performances from junior Sammie DiBease and senior Sydney Dixon. DiBease continued her exceptional play from the quarterfinals, recording a match-high 21 kills, while Dixon contributed 19 kills and 23 digs for an impressive double-double. Senior setter Jayme Zoeckler orchestrated the offense masterfully with 45 assists.
