ASHLAND, OH: The Cavalier women took on the defending National Champion and #1 ranked Ashland Eagles in Ashland on Thursday night. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter by dominating in the paint. They would go on to score 62 total points in the paint for the entire game and by halftime it was all Ashland, with a score of 52-24.

Despite 14 points and 3 assists from
Alycia Triplett, Walsh continued to fall further behind in the third quarter. In the end, The Cavs finished the game shooting just 41.2% from the field as they would lose by a final score of 96-56.
The Maroon and Gold will look to rebound on Saturday and avenge an early season OT loss against rival, Malone, in the Mayor's Cup. This game will take place in Alumni Arena with tip-off set for 1 PM.Â
