NORTH CANTON, OH: The 2023-2024 season ending in victorious fashion for the Walsh Women's Basketball team on Saturday afternoon. After honoring their two seniors,
Abby Hickey, and
Jamie Schmeltz, the Maroon and Gold grinded out a sometimes messy, 54-47, win. Walsh scored the first eight points of the game including two three's from Hickey. The hot start from the three point line allowed the Cavs to never trail in the season finale. Despite struggling to find the basket in the middle two quarters, a strong team finish, including a 42% fourth quarter floor shooting percentage helped Walsh get the win.
The Cavaliers finished their season last stretch of the season with a 3-1 record to finish 8-18 overall. Congratulations to both Jamie and Abbey on their contributions to Cav Nation.
