OWENSBORO AND CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY- The Walsh University volleyball team kicked off their 2024 G-MAC conference play with two matches on September 20-21. The Cavaliers faced Kentucky Wesleyan and Thomas More, splitting the series with one win and one loss.

• Sammie DiBease led the offense with 15 kills.
• Anna West contributed 7 kills and 2 blocks.
• Jayme Zoeckler orchestrated the offense with 15 assists.
• Arora Levengood anchored the defense with 22 digs.
• Elizabeth Bauer recorded a team-high 4 blocks.

GAME 2 VS THOMAS MORE
• Sammie DiBease led the attack with 14 kills.
• Anna West contributed 8 kills and 2 blocks.
• Jayme Zoeckler led the setting with 21 assists.
• Arora Levengood recorded 15 digs.
• The team struggled offensively, hitting just .072 for the match.

The Maroon and Gold started their conference play strong with a sweep against Kentucky Wesleyan but faced a tough opponent in Thomas More, resulting in a straight-set loss. This split brings their overall record to 4-5 and their G-MAC record to 1-1. Walsh will look to build on their conference-opening win as they continue their G-MAC schedule.
