COLUMBUS, OH AND MIDLAND, MI: Coming off a very successful non conference schedule, the Cavaliers opened up Great Midwest play at Ohio Dominican and Northwood. A tie at ODU and loss at Northwood would be the result of the first two conference battles.
In Columbus, the Panthers set the pace with the Cavs fighting back, evening the fight. Walsh dominantly out shot the home team 25-5, including 12 shots on goal.
In Midland, a quick start from the Timberwolves was too overpowering for the Maroon and Gold. Within the first 20 minutes, Walsh found themselves down, 3-0. Northwood never looked back in the 6-2 rout.
