PAINESVILLE, OH: The Walsh Cavalier Football team got back in the win column, with a 20-13 victory over the Lake Erie College Storm, this afternoon. This was a true test for the Maroon and Gold as much was on the line including the Pride and Passion trophy, a traveling trophy between the two schools. The Cavs have now retained the trophy three years in a row.
The low scoring battle made each possession count as Walsh found the end zone three times thanks to Freshman Quarterback,
Cole Norris. A 14 for 16 performance and the three touchdowns earned the Cavs their 5th win of the season. The Cavaliers owned the ground game with 133 yards which kept the clock moving.
The Walsh defense got back in a groove only giving up one touchdown and making a key stop as Lake Erie threatened near the end of the game.
Michael Howman Williams led the Maroon and Gold with 8 solo tackles. Earning the one take away of the game was
Kameron Gill with a 24 yard interception return.
The Cavs will look to earn their 6th win of the season next Saturday as they return to Larry Staudt Field for a contest vs Thomas More. Kickoff is set for 12pm.
