NORTH CANTON, OH: The most successful Cavalier Football team in the NCAA era wrapped up their season against the Northwood University on Saturday afternoon. Walsh welcomed the 9th ranked team in the region on senior day, hoping to capitalize on their success with a win.
With the first drive, true Freshman QB,
Stevie Diamond marched the Maroon and Gold down the field while taking up nearly half the opening quarter.
Jake Gill capitalized the drive finding the end zone, giving Walsh the edge. The home defense kept the Timberwolves scoreless which allowed the Cavs to tack on three more points, notching a 10-0 lead.
A handful of stops from the Cav defense got the ball back in the hands of the banged up offense but the end zone was not found the rest of the game. The difference was a scoring drive by the visitors with 5:38 remaining, taking the lead and sealing the victory, 17-13.
Walsh finishes the season 6-5 overall and 4-5 in the G-MAC.
