NORTH CANTON, OH: In the last regular season game on March 1st, the Walsh University Cavaliers Women's Basketball team hosted the highly ranked Ashland Eagles. Despite a valiant effort from the Cavaliers, they were overwhelmed by the Eagles, falling 72-51 in a challenging match-up.

The Cavaliers, led by top scorers Izzy Callaway with 12 points, Lauren Galaska with 9, and Rory O'Hara with 6, struggled to keep pace with Ashland's aggressive gameplay. Ashland, the #7 ranked team nationwide and the G-MAC Regular Season champions, maintained control throughout the game. The halftime score reflected the uphill battle for Walsh, trailing 34-23.

Emma Dretke and Izzy Callaway led the team defensively with 2 steals each, while Rory O'Hara was a standout on the boards, grabbing 5 rebounds. Additional contributions came from Mallory Oddo, Sami Kim, and Morgan Roberts, adding depth to the scoreline.

The game unfolded with Ashland taking an early lead in the first period, leading 19-9 at its close. The Eagles further extended their lead in the second period, finishing the half with a 34-23 advantage. The third period saw the Cavaliers fighting back, reducing the lead to 9 points, but Ashland responded strongly in the fourth period to secure a 72-51 victory.

Walsh finished the season with a  9-19 overall record and 4-16 in G-MAC play.
