NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh University baseball team hosted Lake Erie for a four-game series at Biery Stadium from March 21-22, 2025. Despite a promising start, the Cavaliers struggled, losing three of four games to the Storm.
In the series opener on March 21, Walsh secured a 7-3 victory. Brandon Cahill earned his first win of the season, pitching six solid innings. The Cavaliers' offense came alive early, scoring three runs in the first inning and maintaining the lead throughout the game.
However, Lake Erie bounced back in the second game of the day, edging out Walsh 5-4 in a tight contest. The Storm's pitching held strong, securing a narrow victory.
On March 22, the series continued with two more games. In the first, Lake Erie mounted a remarkable comeback to win 15-12 after Walsh initially took an 8-0 lead. Despite the loss, Walsh's offense showed resilience, scoring 12 runs on 13 hits.
In the series finale, Lake Erie completed the series win with a 13-7 victory. Walsh's late-game efforts weren't enough to overcome Lake Erie's offensive onslaught.
