CAVS EARN G-MAC OPENING WIN

NORTH CANTON, OH: In the first conference showdown of the season, the Walsh University Cavaliers secured a commanding 17-6 victory over the Northwood Timberwolves. Dominating from the start, the Cavaliers held a robust halftime lead of 10-4, setting the stage for a resounding win. Hudson Dennill and Toby Olynyk led the scoring charge for Walsh, each netting four goals in a game that highlighted the Cavaliers' offensive depth. Parker Stanway also made significant contributions with three goals, while several others including James Sternberg, Garrett Kessling, Matthew Bagatta, AJ Harrison, Owen Callaghan, and Owen Ranly each found the back of the net to round out the scoring spree. In addition, Sternberg excelled not just in scoring but also in facilitating play, providing a game-high five assists.

Defensively, the Cavaliers were well protected by goalie, Alex Movshin, who made 13 saves over nearly 55 minutes. Holton Marshall also played a key role, stepping in for over five minutes and making two saves in the net. Their efforts helped keep the Timberwolves at bay to secure the victory.

The Cavaliers' season record is now 2-3 overall, marking their first conference win (1-0). Looking forward, the Cavaliers will host Tiffin at Larry Staudt Field on March 11th, as they seek to build on this momentum.
