NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh University baseball team hosted Ohio Dominican University for a four-game conference series at Biery Stadium on April 12-13. The Cavaliers (10-22, 9-20 G-MAC) celebrated Senior Day but ultimately fell short, losing the series 3-1 to the Panthers (15-22, 14-21 G-MAC).
In the series opener, Ohio Dominican dominated with a 13-0 shutout victory. The Panthers exploded for five runs in the fourth inning, highlighted by CJ Dean's two home runs. Walsh managed just three hits against Ohio Dominican's pitching staff, with starter Jake Stried tossing six scoreless innings.
The second game saw another strong pitching performance from the Panthers in a 2-0 win. Spencer Chapman threw a complete-game shutout, allowing just seven Walsh baserunners. The Cavaliers' offense struggled to capitalize on opportunities, stranding multiple runners in scoring position.
