NORTH CANTON, OH: The Walsh University softball team faced a tough challenge at home on Wednesday, April 16, as they were swept in a doubleheader against 21st ranked Tiffin University. The Cavaliers struggled to contain the Dragons' offense, falling 12-3 in the opening game and 7-1 in the second game at the WU Softball Complex. These losses bring the Cavaliers' overall season record to 10-24, while Tiffin University improved their record to an impressive 34-10.
Game 1: Tiffin 12, Walsh 3
Tiffin came out strong in the first inning, quickly taking the lead with two runs. Walsh fought back, with senior Madi Russo launching a solo homerun in the sixth inning, injecting some energy into the Cavaliers' lineup. However, Tiffin's offense proved too powerful.
Game 2: Tiffin 7, Walsh 1
The second game saw a tight start, with both teams locked in a scoreless tie through three innings. Unfortunately, Tiffin broke the deadlock in the fourth, scoring three runs and gaining momentum. Danielle Stewart managed to drive in Leah Musall in the sixth, putting Walsh on the board, but it wasn't enough to shift the game's momentum.
