CAVS MOVE ON, STERNBERG BREAKS 2 RECORDS

NORTH CANTON, OH: For the second year in a row, along with the second time in school history, the Walsh Cavaliers are moving on to the Great Midwest Semifinals! As the 3 seed, the Cavaliers hosted #6 Northwood on a cold, wet, and windy spring day. Previously, on March 8th, Walsh defeated the Timberwolves, 17-6. With confidence coming in, the Timberwolves started strong, proving they deserved to be in the postseason.

The Maroon and Gold struck first, scoring within the first 29 seconds of the game. Northwood quickly responded, even taking a 2-1 lead. The first quarter ended with a score of Walsh 4 - Northwood 3.

The games script quickly shifted as Walsh fired on all cylinders in the 2nd period connecting on 7 goals, taking an 11-5 lead to the break. In the 2nd half, the home squad would continue to dominate, earning them a berth to the G-MAC Semifinal!

Along with the excitement of a victory, Junior, James Sternberg broke two school records. He broke the single season goals record and the single game assist record. Currently, he is 4th in the nation in total points this season!

The postseason will continue for the Cavs as they will play at #2 Lake Erie on Wednesday at 7pm!
