GRAND RAPIDS, MI: In a big Great Midwest match up on Saturday, the Cavs visited new associate member, Davenport. With post season implications on the line, the Maroon and Gold knew going in how much a win would mean.
From the first face off, the match up proved to be even. Davenport took a one goal lead with them after one. The Cavaliers clamped down on the defensive end holding the Panthers to 2 second period goals. With many goals scored back and fourth, the 4th quarter saw a Cavalier 4 goal lead with 5:40 remaining. Unfortunately, the game isn't over until it is over. The Panthers did not go away as they tied the game up at 16 all with 1:02 remaining.
With 24 seconds left, Davenport connected on the go ahead goal, ultimately defeating the Cavs, 17-16.
With 3 regular season games remaining, Walsh will face Thomas More for senior day on Saturday, at 1pm. Walsh is currently in 3rd place in the G-MAC.
