CAVS GO 3-1 IN OPENING WEEKEND

NORTH CANTON, OH- The Walsh University Volleyball Team hosted the 2025 Hall of Fame City Challenge where teams from all across the region came to compete. The Cavs opened up their season competing in 4 non-conference matches on September 5th and 6th.

Walsh University 3 – Saginaw Valley State University 0 (25-17, 25-22, 25-18) 

GAME 1 FOR THE CAVS 
Kameron Stover led the team with 11 kills and added 1 ace and 3 blocks. 
Grace Mazzacco contributed 10 kills and a team-high 4 blocks. 
AJ Burick orchestrated the offense with 17 assists. 
Locie Levengood anchored the defense with 9 digs. 
 
GAME 2 FOR THE CAVS 
Izzy Shank led the offensive charge with 12 kills. 
Mckinley Reichert  lead in the backrow with 12 digs. 
Morgan Hornaday lead the team with 18 assists and added 2 service aces and 3 blocks. 
Kameron Stover recorded a team-high 4 blocks and added 11 kills and 8 digs. 
 
GAME 3 FOR THE CAVS
 
Kameron Stover led with 24 kills and contributed 12 digs, achieving a double-double. 
Morgan Hornaday  set up the offense with a team-high 50 assists and contributed 12 digs. 
Grace Mazzacco, Sammie DiBease, and Morgan Hornaday all dominated at the net with 3 blocks a piece. 
Locie Levengood anchored the defense with an impressive 21 digs. 
 
GAME 4 FOR THE CAVS 

Kameron Stover carried the offense with 13 kills and contributed 7 digs, tied with Sabrina Da Silva. 
Grace Mazzacco contributed 5 kills and a team-high 3 blocks. 
Morgan Hornaday orchestrated the offense with 16 assists, follow by AJ Burick with 14.  
Locie Levengood anchored the defense 11 digs and led the team with 2 service aces. 
 
The Maroon and Gold will face Fairmont State University on Tuesday, September 9th at 6:00 pm in Fairmont, WV.
