NORTH CANTON, OH: Walsh Men's Basketball is hot despite the mid January temperatures in Northeast Ohio. The Cavaliers froze out the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers, yesterday, as they rolled to a 102-66 win. Walsh scored 59 points in the second half alone. Walsh now moves to 13-2 on the season and 7-2 in the G-MAC. The Cavaliers also sit on top the G-MAC standings with two other teams having 3 losses.
Through the first ten minutes, the Panthers and Cavs battled it out, both teams taking leads. Walsh then turned the heat up going on a 15-0 run, including two dunks from
Quintero Barnett and
Matthew Biddell. Up by as much as 18, the Maroon and Gold took a 13 point lead into the halftime break.
Kentucky Wesleyan cut the deficit to 8 right, starting the second half strong but that quick start turned to a quick downfall as the Maroon and Gold took complete control of the game. The Cavs led by 25 at the 8:36 mark and then pushed in to 36 by the final horn.
The Men shot 53.4% from the field, made 11 threes, and shot 13 for 15 from the foul line. Walsh also only had one turnover throughout the 40 minutes.
Walsh will take on the Tiffin Dragons on Thursday. Walsh defeated the Dragons, previously on 1/10, 82-70.

FOR THE CAVS
- Quintero Barnett scored 20 points in 23 minutes. He shot 7 for 11 from the floor and 4 for 5 from behind the arc.
- Matthew Biddell had near identical numbers to Barnett with 18 points including 4 for 5 from behind the arc.
- Kyle Monterrubio shot 100% from the field and foul line on his way to 14 points.
- Brayden Gross (12) and Caleb Brooks (11) were also in double figures.
- Zack Oddo grabbed a team high 7 rebounds.
