NORTH CANTON, OH: The Women's Basketball team at Walsh University snapped a losing streak by dominating the Kentucky Wesleyan Panthers inside Alumni Arena on Saturday. After a hot start to the season, the Cavs rounded out the calendar year and start of the new year by losing six straight contest. Although in most games, the Women could never overcome slow quarters to secure victories.
That script changed on Saturday as Walsh completely dominated in all four quarters, defeating Kentucky Wesleyan, 64-38. Scoring double figures in each period as well as holding the Panthers to single digits in 3 out of 4 quarters helped secure the victory. The Women also forced 31 Panther turnovers with their intense defense.
Kiley Dyrlund led all scorers but strong offensive games from
Sydney Ludvigsen and
Sami Kim helped the Maroon and Gold's cause. The 26 point victory was the largest margined win since the 2021-2022 season.
The Cavaliers will look to earn another G-MAC win on Thursday when they head to Tiffin to face the Dragons at 5:30pm.
