OWENSBORO, KY: The Maroon and Gold of Walsh Men's Hoops earned their 20th win of the season on Saturday afternoon. Currently ranked 22nd in the nation, Walsh is now on a 3 game win streak as they wrapped up their last long road trip on this year's campaign.
The first 17 minutes of today's game was an even battle but by the 2:34 mark of the first half, the momentum turned to the visiting Cavs. Walsh ended the half on an 8-0 run to hold a ten point lead heading into halftime.
The Cavaliers continued with the momentum in the second half, extending their lead to 20 points. A quick 13-0 run from Kentucky Wesleyan gave the Cavs a small scare but buckets from
Zack Oddo,
Kobe Mitchell, and Mathew Biddell halted the Panthers from getting any closer. Walsh went on to a 12-0 run which ultimately secured the win as time ran to 0.
The Men will return to Alumni Arena on Tuesday for a non-conference game against Great Lakes Christian. Tip off is at 5pm.
