Box Score NORTH CANTON, OH: The regular season is officially wrapped up for the Walsh Women's Basketball team as they lost to Malone, 67-58. Despite the loss, the Cavaliers have clinched the 4th seed in the G-MAC Conference Tournament. Walsh will host a quarterfinal game on Tuesday night.
Malone came in to Alumni Arena in 2nd place in the conference and sixth in the Midwest region. Getting down by 10 points early the Cavs hung in with the Pioneers the rest of the way. Down by 7 at half, Walsh stayed in the game, cutting the deficit to 4 points at the midway point of the 3rd. A 5-0 and 7-0 run did not help the Maroon and Gold as Malone started pulling away.
Depth and experience got the best of Walsh in the loss but the team will now look to the conference tournament, starting on Tuesday, March 3rd. The Walsh Women will host the Hillsdale Chargers at 5:30pm. The teams split their match ups this season, Walsh falling on the road 60-53 then winning 72-63 at home.
The Women finish the regular season 16-12 and 12-8 in the G-MAC. This will be the programs first playoff appearance since the 2022-2023 season.
